Gazipur, Nov 16 (bdnews24.com)—Train travel between Dhaka and Mymensingh has been halted after three cargo bogies of the Mymensingh-bound Bhawal Express train from Dhaka were derailed at Sripur Upazila.
Officials claimed that there have been no reports of casualties in the accident that occurred around 5.15am on Tuesday.
“Three cargo bogies, at the end of the train, were derailed,” Kauraid Rail Station’s assistant station master Abdullah Al Mamun told bdnews24.com.
“More than one thousand passengers were onboard the train’s five passenger bogies and their roof tops when the accident occurred. However, there were no reports of any casualties.” he added.
The railway official also claimed that most of the passengers have left for their destinations by road following the accident and revealed that a rescue train is on the way from Dhaka.”
